MBA Competition

From March to April in 2019, the much-anticipated “Malie Cup” ECNU MBA Business Start-up Competition is scheduled to take place on campus to create a bridge between MBA students’ theoretical study and real-life innovative projects. Commonly viewed as a warming-up event prior to the National College “Internet+” Innovation & Business Start-up Competition, “Malie Cup” is sought after every year by ECNUMBA students. Students on campus or alumni graduated within five years from ECNUMBA center are all qualified to attend the contest and participating projects will be divided into “original concept” group, “newly-established” group, and “fast-growing” group, depending on their stage of growth. An organizing committee composed of leading scholars from the center and company executives in investment-related industries will be formed and announced in the days to come. In addition, monetary incentives will be awarded to students ranking top places in the final round of competition.

Highlights of Mr. Pan Hong’s lecture dated March 3, 2019

on Entrepreneurship, Financing and Listing

(1) A self-made entrepreneur should have a placid state of mind, much like that of a practitioner in order to enjoy steady growth in his or her path of starting up a business.

(2) A project is only meaningful when putting into actual practice. All things, no matter how trivial, should not be taken lightly; one cannot expect results overnight.

(3) An efficient team is core to an emerging business. A great team should have the contract spirit, an environment for candid communication and dynamic adjustment, and a leader with strong faith.

Bonus: Words of Wisdom

Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.
