Modimowabarwa Kanyane

Modimowabarwa Kanyane教授为南非文达大学管理、商业和法律学院执行院长，曾任南非人文科学研究理事会（HSRC）研究主任。Modimowabarwa Kanyane有着丰富的学术和研究经验，曾获比勒陀利亚大学行政管理博士学位和法国国际公共管理学院国际经济与金融谈判证书。他曾多次荣获著名奖项，包括由联合国教科文组织亚太地区世界遗产培训与研究中心（World Heritage Institute of Training and Research for Asia and the Pacific region，简称WHITR-AP）颁发的“2022年世界遗产教育创新案例全球奖——探索之星”。他还获得了国家研究基金会的C-2级评定。他的代表性著作有2024年由Routledge出版社出版的《南非的伦理与治理》、2023年由HSRC出版社出版的《金砖国家在非洲促进发展》等。

Professor Modimowabarwa Kanyane is the executive dean of the Faculty of Management, Commerce and Law at the University of Venda and former Human Sciences Research Council research director. He is an esteemed governance expert with a wealth of experience in academia and research with a doctoral degree in administration from the University of Pretoria and a certificate in international economic and financial negotiations from the International Institute of Public Administration in France. His expertise is widely recognized locally and internationally. Professor Kanyane has been honoured with prestigious awards, including the 2022 Star of Discovery global award by the World Heritage Institute of Training and Research for Asia and the Pacific region. His contributions have earned him a C-2 rating from the National Research Foundation. His influential work extends to academia and beyond, as seen in his leadership roles in BRICS and the publication of his groundbreaking book, “Ethics and Governance in South Africa,” by Routledge in 2024 and that of “The BRICS in Africa Promoting Development”, HSRC Press in 2023.

金砖国家自成立伊始，便定位为推动全球发展更公正、更公平、更包容的一股新力量。其立场在中国与非洲的外交实践中得到了加强，并在治理改革、中非合作论坛（FOCAC）以及“一带一路”倡议（BRI）中得到进一步巩固。人们普遍认为，中非合作论坛和“一带一路”倡议将共同提出有效应对社会经济挑战的解决方案。然而，核心的问题是：金砖国家是否真的促进了非洲的发展？2024年由HSRC出版社出版的《金砖国家在非洲：促进发展？》深入探讨了这一问题。该书由M Yazini April、Krish Chetty、Yul Davids和Modimowbarwa Kanyane共同主编。

Since its inauguration, BRICS has positioned itself as an alternative for advocating for a more just, equitable and inclusive development. This voice was reinforced through China and African diplomacies as part of BRICS member states. The voice was consolidated through governance reforms and the Forum on China – Africa Co-operation (FOCAC) and Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). It is understood that through FOCAC and BRI, mutual solutions will be proffered as a cogent response to address socio-economic challenges. However, it is important to ask, is the BRICS in China promoting development in Africa? This question is addressed in the work published by the HSRC Press in 2024 “The BRICS in Africa Promoting Development? which is a collection of research by various scholars from various disciplines edited by M Yazini April, Krish Chetty, Yul Davids and Modimowbarwa Kanyane
